About the Club
"Mini's Waikato Inc." was Founded as the "Mini Cooper Enthusiasts Club Inc." in June 1989.
The "Classic Mini" was simply a "Mini".

Enthusiasts of all Mini's were welcome to join the Club.
This included those who were interested in any of the different Marques and Variants.
ie, Austin, Morris, Riley, Wolseley, Moke's, Vans, Ute's & Special's.

- In 2016 the range of eligible Club vehicles changed to include enthusiasts of all front wheel drive, "A" series powered cars. ie, 1100 & 1300's, Allegro & Metro.
These cars now also qualify as Club cars, for inclusion in results of any Club competitions.
Ownership has never been a requirement.
The Club aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and friendly competition among mini enthusiasts and help preserve examples of the worlds first space saving, front wheel drive automobile.
When the original Mini ended production in October 2000, it became known as the "Classic Mini"
The new BMW MINI was released in 2002ish, and it was thought to deserve it's own Club.
Club Membership is offered to anyone who has an interest in Classic mini's. (pre - 2001)
